Maybe in 2020 I became interested in the idea of playing music in space. I had read an Oliver Sach's book in which he described American Sign Language as language that is acted out in space. I think he was referring to the idea that sign language, through the subtleties of gesture and body language, was wholly unique in what and how ideas could be conveyed.

From this, I became interested in how gesture, and more broadly, our movement through space, could be transformed into larger abstractions.
